Andrew Zeller
As a Compositor/Roto Paint Artist with a background in education, Andrew joined the Lost Boys team eager to share his experience and knowledge to help students gain practical skills used by VFX artists working in the industry.
His love of movies, Vancouver, and global cultures drew him to Lost Boys as an ideal place to teach, develop, and create. He regularly interviews VFX industry professionals and enjoys writing articles related to visual effects, education, and film.
Andrew’s students have gone on to work at multiple studios across North America and Europe including: Atomic Fiction, MPC, Image Engine, Scanline VFX, Milk VFX, Zoic Studios, Stargate Studios, Hydraulx, Mr. X, Six 2 North Productions, Darkhorse 10, Umedia, and FuseFX.

Production
After a practicum at Hydraulx VFX, Andrew was one of the first artists hired by Vitality Visual Effects. In addition to paint, roto, and compositing work on both film and television projects, Andrew wrote several pages for the studio’s staff handbook, explaining how to use the software provided in-house. He worked at Vitality for nearly 2 years before making the decision to return to Lost Boys.
Education
Andrew has a Bachelor’s Degree in Asian Languages and Cultures from the University of British Columbia (UBC), with an emphasis in Mandarin Chinese. In addition, he earned a TESOL certificate from Ritsumeikan University. He has 3+ years of experience teaching English and preparing students for English exams in Japan, South Korea, and Canada.
In June 2015, Andrew graduated with Class 17 from the Advanced Visual Effects Compositing Program at Lost Boys. He was awarded a certificate from his instructor: Ganz Ramalingan, and mentor, Compositing Supervisor: Chris Van Dyck, for personal flare and leadership.
