We designed VFX for Filmmakers as an introduction to visual effects and compositing for anyone who wants to explore the field and get a better understanding of what it involves.

Whether you are a filmmaker looking to add VFX to your own projects, a film student, or simply curious about visual effects, this course gives you the opportunity to explore the basics of compositing and get a feel for working in Nuke.

VFX Compositing: Screen Burn-In

The course introduces you to Nuke, the industry standard for visual effects compositing. You’ll become familiar with its interface, understand how its node based workflow works, and explore its capabilities through a practical project focused on a basic and commonly used compositing task: a screen burn in.

How It Works

The course is online, pre-recorded, and self-paced, allowing you to work through the lessons at your own pace while getting a hands on introduction to Nuke and the fundamentals of compositing. VFX Workshop: Screen Burn-In

Learn how to convincingly integrate digital content onto screens, whether phones, monitors, or other displays, so they look filmed in-camera.

Replace and track screen content accurately.
Integrate screen graphics into live-action footage.
Add realistic details such as reflections, glow, and distortion.
Shoot your own plate, or even perform in the shot

By the end of the workshop, you’ll understand how to create clean, believable screen burn-ins that meet professional production standards.
